Keeping a sketchbook

Sketchbook stack
Keeping a Sketchbook is important, everyone needs a place to keep their doodles, ideas, and rough drafts of drawings. Your sketchbook can be private or something to show off to everyone. Or you can keep 2, one to show and one for scribbles. If there is a good one in your scribbles you can either copy it or just tear out that page and glue it into your display book. Same goes for a crappy drawing in your nice sketchbook.

Your sketchbook is like a gym for your artwork. Using it frequently exercises your creativity and skills. It will also keep your ideas for you. Be sure to scribble down any ideas you get before they escape. How many times have you had an Idea but forgot what it was because you couldn't write it down?

Sadly, I am without a proper sketchbook right now. All I can get are lined notebooks. Due to where we are living at the moment I cannot go shopping myself (safety reasons) and there doesn't seem to be any art supplies available in the market.

Back home in the States I think I have one or two half-filled sketchbooks and several older ones, but its hard to remember. I've been here in Iraq a year and a half and most of my stuff is back home.
