I just caught this movie on TV the other morning. It's based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, namely, the first in the series called "The Colour of Magic".
The story is similar to the predictions of our end times. A red star shows up and gets larger and closer. People panic. The powerful are blamed. (the wizards in the story) At the end however, there is rebirth and the world still exists.
Very interesting and Must see.
