Busy and a Design Don't

Just got back from a trip to Dohuk with my husband and son. We had fun and got plenty of shopping done.

But one thing I notice every time we go into town is how AWFUL the signage is. It's like every business owner got a hold of photoshop and did it them self... the day after they learn how to work a computer. People here have no clue about design or even what a color wheel is.

They also either don't know, don't care, or both about copyrights. I think I've seen a green and black Donald duck painted on a shop somewhere, off-color Mickey mouses and Tweeties, Smurfs embroidered in god-awful colors on baby clothes, and Adida's lawyers would be working overtime suing over all the rip-offs of sports clothes. Adidos, Aoddias, Adiods, and any of a millionty other variations.

If you are a graphic designer, or want to be, please don't design signs like the ones in the photo.

Seriously, someone needs to come to Iraq and start a professional Graphic Design school. And get these people spell check.
